Gouache on 300# watercolor paper, 30 x 22 in., 1992
The guy in the center with a triangle head plays the accordion. Each of the musicians share images: the guitar player's hand is also the accordion player's right hand; the singer's hand is the accordion player's left hand. The guitarist's foot is also a cymbal. There are two faces on the keyboard player: one face plays the drums and the other face plays the keys.
The colors of the characters denote various races of people: red, yellow, black and white.
The yellow square in the lower right is a symbol I "invented" for love called Olive U.
"Band Together" is a painting about bringing people together, hence the accordion.
