In this painting, Ethel prepares chicken buried in a mushroom soup sauce, instant rice, canned corn and for dessert, a recipe of egg whites whipped to stiff peaks with sugar and cream of tartar.
The painting shows the chef bending over to place food in the oven. Her face resembles the mixer in a bowl and her body looks like the chicken.
Hence, we are what we eat.
